Bray Review Course AND Bray Obesity Symposium Package 2024

PBRC along with its distinguished faculty has been a world leader in obesity science and treatment for more than 30 years due in large part to the leadership of its first chief scientist and executive, George A Bray MD, an early pioneer in obesity research.

For this annual symposium, in honor of George A Bray MD, preeminent obesity experts from PBRC and around the US will elucidate the latest advances in the pathophysiology of obesity as well as advances in multidisciplinary obesity treatment.

Dr. George Bray was the founding Executive Director of Pennington Biomedical Research Center, and was appointed Boyd Professor of Louisiana State University, the highest rank attainable at LSU. He is internationally recognized for his research in obesity in both the basic and clinical realms, with well over 2,000 publications and an H-Index of >120. He is one of the founders and past President of the Obesity Society, and the International Association for the Study of Obesity and the recipient of prestigious scientific awards, including the AMA Goldberger Award, Osborne and Mendel Award from the American Society for Nutrition, the McCollum Award from the American Society of Clinical Nutrition, and Presidential Medal from the Obesity Society. Dr Bray and his wife Marilyn endowed the Obesity Society’s George Bray Award for outstanding achievements in obesity research.
